How To Grow Your Network Marketing Business Fast (Without Posting on Social Media)

First of all, let me just clear the air and tell you that I'm not going to sugarcoat anything in this article, nor am I going to try to recruit you to one of my network marketing teams.

Yes, you read that correctly...teams is plural; I have more than one successful MLM businesses!

So I guess we could both agree that I know a thing or two about how to do this whole network marketing business online, and, very specifically, how to grow a network marketing business without relying on social media.

*gasp*

Does it surprise you that neither of my MLM income streams, is the primary focus of my online health and wellness practice, and that I have been able to successfully grow in both companies without using social media marketing?

Quick caveat: I don’t do in-home parties, either. Please let me just stay at home from the comfort of my own leggings and use the magic of the interwebs, instead. More on how that works in a minute.

I'm not necessarily knocking social media as a means to connect with potential customers and share valuable, helpful content. It’s a great means for doing both of those things, if you love it.

Read that again: Social media is a great tool if you love it.

I don’t really love it.

In fact, there is only one social media platform that I create original content on from time to time, and any other place I’m showing up online is actually a really bomb social media virtual assistant that works for me a few hours a week.

(Outsourcing is a hot topic that I do a lot of training on inside my private business coaching membership, but maybe that would be a good topic for an article here. My wheels are turning…)

Anyway, this is what I want you to know before we dive into the sustainable, evergreen online marketing methods you can use to grow your network marketing business fast, which is what I'm going to share today.

Let's get on the same page:

1. When I say evergreen, I’m referring to a piece of content or system that you set up one time but it continually attracts the right people to you like bees to honey and ideally converts them to paying customers without any spammy, salesy weirdness.

2. Social media is not an evergreen marketing strategy because your content and posts die a very quick death without very many eyeballs seeing them.

That’s an exhausting hamster wheel we want to get off of unless, as I said before, you love engaging and posting on social media.

If that’s the case, you’re going to keep on doin’ what you’re doin’, but also implement the strategies detailed below so your content can continually work for you around the clock.

3. Fish where the fish are:  Are your dream customers and future team members searching for the answers to their big pain points on social media or somewhere else online? (Forums, Google, YouTube, Pinterest…)

Put yourself in their shoes and go stick your fishing pole into the lake where they’re already swimming. Make sense?

All right. All the terrible metaphors will stop for now, while we get busy creating your Network Marketing Customer Lead Machine online. Let’s do this.

5 Essentials For Growing Your Network Marketing Business Online

01. A Personally Branded Website

My friend, you need a website. This is not negotiable. A social media profile page is NOT the same as a branded, simple website where you own the content, and believe me, you need to own your content and have control over it so you can create a very strategic user experience that converts to sales.

If you don’t have a website yet, that’s fine. You can whip one up in just a few hours following the steps I outlined in this article about what webpages your health and wellness website needs and a comprehensive review of what website builder to use on this one.

I got you.

The important thing you need to know about your website is the purpose of it, which is to brand you.

Your dream customers and future team members will choose to work with you based on the connection they feel to you, not because of the products you’re selling, which is why it’s so crucial that you let them connect with you on your website.

Let me emphasize this one more time: The name of your website doesn’t need to have anything to do with the products you sell or your current specialty, and, in fact, it shouldn’t.

www.oilsandfunwithstephanie.com is not a good choice for a website url, my friend.

Use your name, or a simple variation of your name that isn’t product-specific, and check that major “what do I call my website?” decision off your list of things to worry about.

Your website is the hub of your network marketing business. It’s your storefront, really. This is where you will take your visitors on a strategic journey from casual passer-by to loyal customer or team member; NOT where you just link to your corporate MLM website and hope they go shopping and buy something.

That doesn't work.

I suspect you know that already because you're still reading this article.

Keep your website branded as YOU from the very beginning knowing that in the future you could (and probably will) pivot your focus and offers from what you’re promoting right now, and you don't want to have to rebrand.

Trust me on this. Your customers are buying into YOU and not what you sell, anyway, so take a shortcut and use your name instead of a cutesy and clever URL that no one will remember, and get that website set up pronto.

02. An Email List!

Your email list is the key to the castle when it comes to serving your customers on a deep level and building an evergreen marketing plan for your direct sales business that works for you 24/7.

Do not even think about skipping this step. I can almost hear your thoughts right now telling me all the reasons why you’re not ready to start an email list

I lovingly call bullshit on all of those reasons, my friend, because they are keeping you stuck.

I have watched countless members inside my Inner Circle private business membership grow their email list from zero to profitable in just a few weeks. You can do it, too.

All the steps for starting your email list, including what to say in those sacred emails, are detailed in this article. Easy peasy.

The reason your little-engine-that-could email list is such a valuable resource in your network marketing business is the direct access you get to your dream clients, customers, and prospective team members.

The subscribers on your email list are effectively raising their hand and yelling, “Yes, I’m interested in what you have! Help me!”

What could be more valuable than that?!

As part of your evergreen marketing strategy, you will want to email your dream clients and future team members super juicy and valuable information that is relevant to their entire life, not just in relation to buying your products.

This is a really critical point, because we tend to think every interaction with our sphere of influence needs include a call to action for them to purchase something from us.

Eeeeekkkk, that doesn’t feel good for anyone.

Instead, I want you to think outside the box on this one and put yourself in the shoes of your ideal customer...what does she want? What answers is she already searching for on Google? How can you support HER without being graspy and desperate for a sale?

The answer to that question is the basis for your email content, my friend.

I am 100% certain that you have a desire to help people get results, and you are passionate about teaching and improving the lives of your customers, or you wouldn’t have started your business in the first place…

So let’s make sure that desire and your expertise in the area that your dreamies are struggling with shines through with all of your emails, social media posts, and website content.

As you establish yourself as the go-to expert with your potential customers and team members through those juicy emails you’ll be sending, your belief in yourself will grow exponentially and that confidence will shine through in all other areas of your business, which will equate to even more growth for you.

How do I know this to be true? I’ve done it!

Nearly all of my most loyal customers and highest-producing team members have been attracted to my MLM businesses and products through value-packed emails!

Don’t be wary of having to spend endless hours every week on manually sending emails to your new leads or customers, because you’ll actually be setting up automated email sequence(s) to deliver to a new subscriber depending on what they're interested in, which will automatically deliver the relevant step by step process you want them to follow for maximum exposure to your awesomeness.

(Again, you can learn all about what to send in those emails from the outline in this article.)

Ok, I’m off my soapbox on the importance of email, which is a perfect time to tell you all about my very favorite ninja strategy for improving your customers’ experience and getting more recurring customers in your network marketing business:

03. A Resource Hub for existing customers and/or your downline

When I say “resource hub”, I’m specifically referring to a membership site. This can be either a free resource or a paid subscription. (How juicy is that?!)

If you’re familiar with me at all, you already know that I am a really gigantic fan of the membership business model, because it allows us to create consistent, recurring income every month without constantly scraping for new clients and customers.

I think it’s an especially fabulous complement to a network marketing business, because you get the best of both worlds: Supporting your existing customers on ways to use the products they’ve purchased through you, and to also convert members that haven’t purchased, yet, into customers.

I created my first membership site with this exact goal in mind, because I was so sick of directing people to noisy and confusing Facebook groups that totally overwhelmed my new customers and team members.

I needed an automated system for introducing them to the resources and tips I had to share, and you do, too!

I know you’re probably wondering what this resource hub could look like, ideas for what sorts of content to include, and how you can build out the content as you go. These were the exact things I was wondering when I first started out, so I created an entire free course showing the “behind the scenes” of both of my membership sites.

👉 You can get all the info on that free course and the software I use to run my memberships, email lists, websites and more on this page. 👈

My advice to anyone who is ready to create a membership site is to be scrappy, and not a perfectionist. The best news of the day is that you can change and tweak your content and site constantly until it’s just the way you want it, but you’ll never know exactly how you want it until you start it.

As a network marketer with a dedicated membership site, the opportunities are endless. You can create your membership site solo, or with help from your downline who can also promote it to their customers and prospects.

Are you getting a vision for how powerful this can be? A dedicated resource hub where you can share all the valuable intel with your customers that you want them to know, and direct email access to them for talking about the benefits of new products, monthly incentives, tips and tricks, and how to share with their networks because, of course, you’re also building that email list as you go. Right? ;)

TECH RESOURCE: I use THIS ALL-IN-ONE SOFTWARE to run my entire online business, including multiple membership sites, websites, recurring payments for members and even a mobile app. It works like a dream.

04. (Bonus) Your Membership Site can be a paid resource as well

This is where the potential really opens up for you to expand your business outside of just promoting your company’s products, which is where the magic starts to happen.

I know you have so much expertise and content you want to share about how your customers can completely transform their lifestyle, and it’s more than just purchasing your products. Am I right? Your membership hub is where you get to share all that fabulous content without it being lost in the void of a noisy Facebook group.

PRO TIP: Are you so sick of unsupported customers from other peoples’ teams joining your free Facebook group and siphoning all of your energy and resources while someone else gets the benefit of commission on those sales? A paid membership is the perfect solution. Charge a recurring monthly fee for access to all your goodies, which will add value to your current customer base but will also completely remove any resentment you have towards members from other teams using your stuff. Win, win!

In fact, your members are exponentially more likely to consume your content and continue purchasing from you when they are paying for the privilege.

There is just way too much “free” information out there, and when we don’t pay, we don’t pay attention.

Even a low monthly subscription will act as a great filter for finding your most motivated and invested (literally and figuratively) prospective customers and team members.

05. (Extra Bonus): Community!

This goes along with the previous items we’ve already talked about, but it’s so freaking important that I want to devote even more time to unpacking this one.

Having an element of community in your network marketing business, whether it’s a community for your customers or for your team (ideally, you’ll have both!) is crucial for scaling.

Don’t be afraid of the word scaling, because it’s a good thing! Being able to scale means your business is able to continually grow without being limited by your time, resources, and availability. That’s the MLM model in a nutshell, right?

The beautiful thing about curating a thriving Community within your membership is that your members will support each other and celebrate their wins together! That means you’re not the encyclopedia of information for answering all the questions. (Yay!!)

Can you see how this could be a team effort with your downline and an incredibly rich opportunity for growth? I know you’re thinking that the Facebook groups you’re plugged into right now are already checking this “Community Box”, but I assure you that’s probably not the case. It’s unlikely that your customers are seeing most of the fantastic content being posted there, and even if they are, the user experience isn’t usually appealing enough to keep them consistently coming back for more.

Wouldn’t it be helpful to strategically group the existing content in those groups into a user-friendly membership site where your customers and team members could find exactly what they need and feel less overwhelmed about the next step in continually purchasing from you?

Yes, yes it would, which is why I hope you create that resource for yourself...and then link to it on your beautiful website. ;)

PRO TIP: An alternative Community option I really like is a dedicated forum OFF Facebook where you have more control over the content and conversation, instead of leaving it up to the Facebook algorithm to decide if and when to display your content.

When you use the native Community forum in Kajabi for example, which you can learn more about here, your members are automatically added or removed from the Community based on the criteria you set, and they get notifications on the mobile app (totally free!) instead of being lost in the Facebook feed.

I don’t know about you, but I do not care to spend time every month removing members from a Facebook group that are no longer active. Having a software that automates all of that for me is the only way to go.

In short, if you’re not a technology genius and you’re ready to leverage these strategies to grow your network marketing business FAST, without only relying on social media, you’ll want to check out Kajabi. It's what I use and what most of the members inside my Membership Magic program use to run our entire online nutrition and health coaching businesses.
